Amir Ziv (dr): [David Watson: Skirl tracks #9,10]
On his myspace site he calls himself a "drummer, composer, leader of free men". He plays together with Marc Ribot, Cyro Baptista and Shahzad Ismaily in a band called Kotkot - never heard of them. The only portions of this Israel-born, New York-based drummer's performance known to me are two tracks on David Watson's Skirl album on the Avant label. Anybody knows more about it?

shame on me, aber ehrlich!! da hab ich irgendwie doch glatt übersehen, dass du eine avant-veröffentlichung postest, und ich glaube nicht, dass die auf dem avant-blog mit dabei war! erst vor kurzem hab ich 2 weitere lücke geschlossen:

Hm, I weiß just at the moment not, if dieses Album was on avant-records.blogspot.com. Jedenfalls quite interesting und unusual sounds - "non-traditional playing" of the bagpipe they call it - there is even a wikipedia list about this phenomenon.
Diese tollen Links, die Du mir da schickst, das sind ja wieder tolle Geschenke! Vor allem der Chadbourne freut mich sehr. Erstens, weil das Lesen von Chadbourneries mir richtig Lust auf dieses Mannes Musik gemacht hat, sondern auch weil ich gerade in ein anderes wunderbares Album reingehört habe, auf dem Susie Ibarra perkussioniert: William Parkers Peach Orchard.
Dass einem so Sachen wie dieser Post entgehen, das finde ich ja gerade das witzige an meiner Art zu posten. Ich will damit natürlich niemanden verschaukeln, aber vielleicht hoffe ich einfach, dass ich mit der Zeit Leute anziehe, die eine ganz bestimmte Art von Humor haben... Wenn's solch einen Humor überhaupt gibt...
